Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of AstroGrid (the "Service"), an interactive 3D cosmos explorer available at velonspace.com, operated by me as an individual sole proprietor based in the Republic of Korea ("I", "me", "my"). AstroGrid is a one-person project with no team. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
AstroGrid is a browser-based application that renders astronomical objects and simulations for educational and entertainment purposes. Astronomical data is sourced from public catalogs published by NASA, ESA, and other research institutions, and may be approximated or stylized for visualization.
2. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose;
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, or compromise the Service;
- Reverse-engineer or redistribute proprietary assets without permission;
- Misrepresent the Service or its data as authoritative scientific reference.
3. Optional support payments
The Service is free to use. You may, at your sole discretion, make a one-time support payment via my support platform, Ko-fi. Support payments do not unlock additional features and are voluntary contributions toward continued development.
4. Intellectual property
All original code, shaders, scenes, and visual designs are owned by me. Astronomical data and reference imagery remain the property of their respective sources. The "AstroGrid" name and branding may not be used without my written permission.
5. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. I do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, accurate, or error-free. Astronomical data is provided for illustrative purposes only and should not be relied upon for navigation, research, or any safety-critical use.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, I shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Because the Service is provided free of charge, and any support payments are voluntary contributions rather than payment for the Service, my total aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed USD 10, or the amount of the specific support payment that gave rise to the claim, whichever is greater.
7. Changes to the Service
I may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without notice. I may update these Terms periodically; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
8. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Seoul, Republic of Korea.
Nothing in this section deprives consumers of the protection of any mandatory provisions of the law of their country of habitual residence.
